Why shouldn't herbs be fed for more than 6 weeks?

Herbs are typically used to support your horse for a specific purpose, to prevent something, or during illness. Herbs reach their full potential within 6 weeks. During this period, the herbs have the strongest targeted effect. It is not recommended to feed them for longer because the intended purpose of the herbs should be achieved, and the body should be able to function on its own again.

In some cases, it may be necessary to extend the duration up to a maximum of 12 weeks, adjusting the dosage accordingly. After that, the body should function independently. The only time long-term feeding may be required is when the horse has a chronic problem. In such cases, it is sometimes recommended to continue feeding at half the dose to provide constant support to the stressed organ, but this is a personalized adjustment made in specific situations.

You can also give herbs for 6 weeks, take a break for a couple of weeks, and then give another course. If herbs are given continuously, it is recommended to vary the herbs over time. It is not recommended to feed the same herb for an extended period as the positive effect may be lost.
